Life is a journey and we all learn from it.  Through experiences, we learn lessons.  Some of us learn a lot in our twenties, while others do so later when they’re older.  However, we can all benefit from the wisdom of other people, taking a proactive approach to avoid blunders and regret.  Read my blog post to find 12 proactive approach tips for life success.

As a self-improvement blogger, I share hacks on life, self-improvement, personal growth, and self-care.  In this blog post, I’ll list some basic things that contribute to a better approach to living.  You must already be knowing them, but reading through my article will help reinforce their importance.

12 proactive approach tips for life success:

1. You define what success means

Success can have a different meaning for you, compared to someone else.  We live in a world where societal norms often guide what is expected of people.  However, when you know your life purpose, you have a better idea of what your success goals are and can work on achieving them.

2. No one owes you anything

It’s a cruel world.  The truth is that you have to fight for and believe in yourself.  Even if you do have family and friends, you can expect to be lonely sometimes.

3. Learn from past failure

True success comes when you persevere.  Learn from failures and don’t repeat them in the future.  Failure isn’t forever, but by giving up, you’ll never achieve what you want to.

4. Embrace lifelong learning

Lifelong, continuous, and ongoing learning are vital to staying informed and up to date.  Even with little formal education, informal learning to develop skills is very helpful.  So, whatever be your profession, having a passion for personal growth will open up a path to always being better than what you were yesterday.

5. Work smart

Learn about best practices in your industry, find ways to work for better results in less time, in other words, work smart and keep your cool, seeing results.  Use productivity hacks, helpful apps and find processes that will help you the most in achieving the results you aim for.

6. Family time is precious

Family is important.  Spend quality time with your family and friends.  Those who sincerely support each other are true friends.  Avoid toxic people who bring you down, instead, choose those who bring out the best in you.

7. Love starts with yourself

Self-esteem and self-love are vital.  Those who don’t respect others are often not on good terms with themselves.  Love starts with yourself first.  When you feel satisfied with being who you truly are, then you can respect others as well.

8. Beauty is just skin deep

It’s a popular saying… ‘beauty is skin deep’.  What has this got to do with success?  Well, having good nature, being well-groomed, well-presented are all known to project a favourable image.  The way you treat others is important, as when people like you, they tend to have a good image of you and even support you.

Beauty is skin deep… as a good-looking person, someone may also be rude and arrogant.  This type of person is likely to have a hard time interacting with others, and even at successfully working in a team.

9. Live in the moment

Even with many goals to accomplish, meetings, projects, and so on, take the time for mindfulness.  Live in the moment, but the hectic life on a halt from time to time.  This helps to destress, relax, and recharge.  Get back to working with a clear mind.

10. Money can’t buy happiness

No matter how much you run after success and achieve what you want to, money still can’t buy happiness.  It does motivate people.  However, when you achieve something, you soon get used to it and it becomes the ‘normal’ thing.  Think of a great house or diamond ring.  You’ve yearned for it, but when you finally have it, you then want something else.

11. Happiness comes from within

Fortunately, happiness comes from within.  You might not be able to have everything that you dream of but notice the small things that you already have.  Think of your morning tea or coffee, time spent with close ones, your child’s smile, and so on.  These simple pure joys are often enough to make you feel on top of the world!

12. Save for retirement

Start saving as soon as possible.  Last but not least, when aiming for success (however you define that for yourself), do plan for retirement.  The sooner you can start, the better.  Having a good buffer budget is also important.

These were my 12 tips for a proactive approach to life success.  However, they aren’t the only ones.  Do get thinking and find more of your own.  What do you need to consider, what proactive actions should you take?  Get started now, don’t wait for things to happen and then react.

Conclusion

To sum up, we all need to plan, be proactive and take possible measures for uncertainties in life.  Would you like to share your experience in the comments?  If you know someone who needs such tips, please share my article.  Thank you!!
